Grannies turn tires for survival

THE elderly in Ebantwini, Bulawayo have turned to old tires for energy due to persistent power cuts being experienced in most parts of the country.

The grannies who are caring for the sick relatives and looking after their grandchildren said they are trying to make ends meet in the face of daily challenges. The elderly were in unison saying it was better to dabble with the health hazard that be killed by hunger.

“I am old and cannot walk long distances in the search of firewood. I also don’t have the money to buy firewood,” said Gogo Elizabeth Mlauzi 70, who stays with her two grandchildren.

She added that she will continue to use tires as her electricity has been cut due to ballooning ZESA arrears.

“ZESA told us to our bills were accruing interest and they cut us off. I stay alone as all my children are late and I look after their children so I prioritise food to anything,” she said.

Goblin flies from Mec

ZIMBABWE might have fallen dismally from the FIFA rankings but definatly not on the vodoo chart. Even Nigeria and India have been eclipsed.

In a suspected case of goblin dumping and witchcraft, a terrifying object was flown out of Mercedes ML last Friday near Town House in Harare forcing nurses who were waiting for their morning bus to flee for dear life.

The object which is believed to be a goblin was thrown from a classy vehicle as soon as the traffic light at corner Julias Nyerere and Jason Moyo turned green signalling traffic to start moving. The vehicle sped in a huff leaving a trail of confusion behind as nurses and pedestrians went to seek refuge in nearby Joina Center.

Within minutes onlookers who had come to establish the identity of the object concluded that it’s a goblin.

A nurse at High-field Polyclinic Ms Rumbidzai Mpingashato who was part of melee said she just saw an object flying out of the car and started running for cover.

Ever since the Zimbabwean government adopted multi currencies  there has been a proliferation of voodoo cases in the country as citizens try to find means of making money the easy way. In Dzivarasekwa early this year, a woman sparked controversy after a talking bird surfaced in her house demanding payment of an unsettled debt with a certain Sangoma from Chipinge.

Bev and Zoey to perform on national TV

FAMOUSE Harare pole dances Beverly Sibanda and Zoey Sifelani are billed to perform alongside Brazilian Samba Dancers on the Samba Night to be held on the 22^nd of next month.

Bev and Zoey as they are affectionately known in the raunchy dancing sector,  will share the stage with the Brazilians ahead of the Zimbabwe International Carnival which will be cohosted by the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) and the Zimbabwe Agricultural Society (ZAS) in the capital city Harare.

Addressing journalists at a press briefing recently, ZTA Chief Executive Officer Karikoga Kaseke confirmed that Zoey and Bev will be performing on Samba night alongside the Brazilian dancers and his organization is negotiating with then national broadcaster to have it beamed live on TV.

“We want to rope in the services of our own raunchy dancers Bev and Zoey on this night, this is going to be one electric night to remember since dancers from both sides are celebrated for their sexually seductive dancing routines.

“We are still negotiating with our national broadcaster to beam the whole Carnival proceedings on national television including the Samba night,” said Kaseke.

The last time Bev performed on national television was in Mutare at a musical gala, there was a roar from the general public who view her dances as sexually explicit and poisonous to youngsters.

Meanwhile, members of the public have expressed discomfort at Kaseke’s utterances as they believe Bev and Zoey’s dances are not for public consumption and must never find their way on national Television.

In an Interview, Mr Isaiah Mururi a father of four children all aged below 18 said showing Bev and Zoey on national TV is taboo and against our cultural norms and values.

“Our African culture speaks strongly against nudity and public indecency, some things must just be kept in the private circles,” he said.

AFM youths caught pants down at church

IN yet another case of public indecency, a youth couple was caught right in the middle of a sexual act at the just ended Rufaro National Youth Conference in Masvingo, this blogger can exclusively reveal.

 It is reported that in the late hours of Friday night, an unidentified couple was caught bonking from the rear while seated on a chair with fellow youths seated a few yards away. It is reported that a passer-by heard a weird sound emanating from the dark and went to investigate. On arrival on the scene, the girl is reported to have jumped from the sugar stick forcing the passer-by to raise alarm and commence pursuit of the love birds.

The couple was pursued and brought to the pastor (name withheld) for discipline. The couple received a through hiding from church elders and was later taken to the executive council for further strokes.

Speaking during the mid-afternoon service, Reverend Chigumbu confirmed the incident and warned would be offenders against indulging in such acts.

“When I was young we used to play a game called Du-Du-muduri kacha, nhasi tinoti mahure muduri kacha, mbavha muduri kacha, zvandiri kutaura izvi pane vabatwa vachiita hupfeve vakagara pachair zvino tinoti mahure akadaro kacha (today we say down with fornicators and thieves, as I am speaking now, a couple was caught in the middle of the act last night, we can’t condone such acts),” said Chigumbu.

More than 18people reported to the ZRP Bulawayo of being conned their money by a money launder. Some people were robbed more than a thousand by a company that appeared in town three months ago and later disappeared.

The company s' name was Pyramid money launder, it came  as professionals who offered people to invest their money with them. people were promised 10percent maturity to their money each and every month. Some invested the first months and then withdraw after a month and they were indeed given back their money with interest.

The people then gained their to trust to this organisation and invested more of their monies but unfortunately the organisation has since disappeared in town. This people are actually not recognised even by the city council of their operations in town.

Cornilleous Kazembe who has invested about 1500  was stuck today at the offices upon realisation that the organisation had disappeared. This was a serious case which was reported today.

Sexual abuse is happening every day in our lives. Of late students were known to be abused by other lecturers but now students abuse each other. Two female students who happens to share a room at a college have sexually abused each other namely Agatha  and Patricia.

Agatha has complained to the college authorities that her room mate has sexually abused her. She said Patricia would bring his boyfriends and have sex with him whilst she is also sleeping on the same bed. Only but yesterday Patricia came home late talking about having fights with her boyfriend.

Unfortunately Patricia then insisted that his boyfriend should come at her place and resolve their conflict. however this is what caused Agatha report to the college authority because when Patricia s' boyfriend came they ended up having sex in the presence of Agatha  and not talking about their conflict. Agatha said this had happened several times but sometimes she would make an alternative of leaving the room and sleeping at friend s' house to accommodate Patricia s' boyfriend.

Agatha also said with the yesterday s' scandal she could not go and look for a place to sleep as the boyfriend arrived at around 12:pm. She thought the two would discuss their problem then the boyfriend would leave but it turned to be the opposite that the boyfriend had came for sex.

Agatha and Patricia are 22years old and Patricia s' boyfriend 23 years old, this are adults who are supposed to have control of themselves. This story came as a shock in my ear that students now can abuse other students. The question is what is Agatha going to do because she had told her friend that her system of having sex in her presence is intimidating her but she continued. We are yet to hear what the college authorities would do.
